Day
2
We are all woken up at 4:00am;
we are expected to attend in the temple from 4:30
-5:30 am. We are surprisingly
alert, the cold of the morning, the early mist and the
race up the temple steps, so as not to be late, may
have something to do with it. As dawn breaks around
6:30, we eat our breakfast of soup, kimchee (spicy cabbage,
served at every meal) & rice.

We
spend the day in Seoul, visiting Changgyeong
Palace, with its complex
of buildings dating back to the 12th century, |
|
followed
by exploring Namdaemun Sijang,
(Great South Gate Market) where you can buy almost anything, |
|
 |
|
 |
|
and
then on to Itaewon,
the international area of Seoul. We begin to get use to
motorbikes travelling along pavements, and surviving on
very little sleep. |
